- A view of the Skerritt property from the corner of Broadway and Sheridan (Hampden). The home is currently located on 3560 S. Bannock. Thomas J. Skerritt, the first permanent resident of the Englewood area, filed on a homestead south of Little Dry Creek in 1864. At one time he owned most of the land which became Englewood from Quincy to Yale and from the railroad to Clarkson. His home "Shadyside" still stands at 3560 S Bannock.
