- Tom and Ella Lewis, standing in front of a house. Thomas "...was born in Broadtop, Pa., Oct. 12, 1872 and came to Boulder, Colorado as a young man. For a time he managed a store at Erie before coming to Western Colorado and entered the mercantile business at Palisade with the J. W. Hugus Co. There he met Miss Ella Rose Berger, a clerk at the old Fair Store in Grand Junction.
