U.S. Post Office, Barbershop and Drug store

The U.S. Post Office in Eagle Colorado, barbershop and drug store. They are located in the Dice Building, built in 1904, on the west side of Broadway. There is an automobile parked on the street and some men are sitting on the stairs at the far left.
From the collection of Robert Thomas DeFoor who coached the Gypsum High School football team in the 1920s. He was a school teacher and pharmacist. He married Lydia Gretchen Doll, who died in Denver on April 29, 1924. They had one daughter, Gretchen.

US Army Reserve Engineer Battalion

A group of Army Reserve trucks and officers stand by in a large parking lot; trucks are presumably loaded with supplies or are prepared to carry supplies to the bridge construction site.
The Bailey Bridge was constructed in the mid 1960's (1967-1968) by the 244th Company of the 4th Engineer Battalion, United States Army Reserve based at Fort Carson, Colorado. Local men including Claude Gerard and Dan Koprinikar, county commissioners at the time, were part of the project. Gerard would retire from the Army Reserve. The Bailey Bridge was erected where the current roundabout in Avon, Colorado is today, directing traffic to Beaver Creek.
