The Eagle Valley Library District and the Eagle County Historical Society work together to bring you thousands of photographs, artifacts, and many other items from historical Eagle County and the surrounding areas on the Western Slope.
The Whittaker ski area on the Whittaker Place at Bruce Creek in the late 1940s. The man standing with his back to the camera on the left is Wayne Randall. Next to him are his cousins, Roxie "Mickie" Randall (sitting down) and Jo Ann Whittaker (standing and laughing). The girl with the scarf on her head at midground is Donna Randall.
Wayne is the son of Les and Florence Randall. He helped to build the ski tow.-- Kathy Heicher, 2011.
1800s: Remains of a wickiup on Brush Creek above the Alex Macdonell Ranch, made from cedar and other branches. Indian home, also called a wigwam, located on Brush Creek. This photograph is featured in the Eagle chapter of "The History of Eagle County" (The Red Book).
