Town of Yampa, Colorado

Tread of Pioneers Museum
Since 1959, the Tread of Pioneers Museum has served as the center of collection, preservation, and exhibition of the artifacts and archives, includ­ing documents, photographs, films, and oral histo­ries, that reflect Steamboat Springs and Routt County history. They create and maintain exhibits and offer a myriad of educational programs, tours, and events that tell the story of our unique heritage. The museum serves our local community and hosts thousands of visitors from all over the world, providing a year-round destination in our seasonal resort town. Recent enhancements to the museum operation include a modern, museum-quality collections facility, full-time, museum-trained professional staff, and state-of-the-art exhibits and technology that showcases the distinct history of this area.
