- Art in Public Places
- As a department of the Town of Vail (TOV), the Art in Public Places (AIPP) program is a significant cultural initiative in the Gore Creek valley and community of Vail. The vision of AIPP is to assemble a diverse and meaningful public art experience that engages the community and enhances the area's cultural vitality. After guidelines and policies for Art in Public Places were adopted by the Town of Vail in 1989, TOV formally created AIPP in 1992. Its first strategic plan was created in 2001 by a board of five community members selected by Vail Town Council. In 2025, there are over seventy community works of art including paintings, sculptures, murals and playground elements. A goal of AIPP is to increase the community overall aesthetic quality such that it equals the beauty of the surrounding mountain landscape.
