Martin undertaking (Palisade, Colorado)
An undertaking business owned and operated by Fred and Carrie Martin from 1915-17. The Martin’s business was located in a red brick building that had once housed a pool hall downstairs and a dance hall, upstairs. The undertaking business occupied the downstairs of the business. According to oral history interviewee Ann Stokes, the building later housed the Peach Tree Inn. In 1917, the family moved to Grand Junction, where they established Martin Mortuary.
Marvin Ice Houses (Salida, Colo.)
John L. Marvin operated the Marvin Ice Houses and Pond 3/4 of a mile northwest of Salida, Colorado. The current location of Marvin Park baseball field.
Masonic Lodge (Salida, Colo.)

Masonic Lodge 55 (Grand Junction, Colorado)
In the February 17, 1883 issue of the Grand Junction News, masons in good standing were requested to meet at the drugstore of Dr. Harrison Edward Stroud for the formation of a Masonic Lodge. The newspaper put out another call for the formation of a lodge in its March 24, 1883 edition, which asked interested parties to meet at McClure's Hall, and issued subsequent calls for organization in April. The June 23, 1883 edition of the paper stated that the Masons had applied to the national Masonic organization for the establishment of a lodge, to be called the Mesa Lodge. Members met on Thursday evenings at McClure's Hall (corner of 4th and Main Streets) for the next few months. In September 1883, the Lodge received the charter number 55 from the national organization. A Masonic Lodge was constructed shortly after, with members meeting at the new lodge, above the Post Office on Main Street, at least by October 11, 1883. Masonic Lodge 55 elected its first officers in December 1883. Officers included: G.B. Frazier, W.M.; J.B. Solomon, S.W.; J.C. Nichols, J.W.; O.D. Russell, Treasurer; D. Crandall, Secretary; and Charles F. Wright, Tiler.
