- Sandy Ferguson Fuller
- Sandra Ferguson Fuller was born 16 May 1951 in Denver, Colorado to Alice “Widge” Willgoos and the late John Lord Ferguson. Fuller grew up in rural Cherry Hills (near Englewood, Colorado) and Vail; she graduated from Cherry Creek High School. In 1973, Fuller earned her B.A. in American Studies/Children’s Books from Yale University. She was a member of the first class of Yale undergraduate women and Delta Kappa Epsilon (DKE) fraternity. Her mentor at Yale was renowned children’s author and illustrator, Maurice Sendak. In 1974, Fuller also earned a degree in Radcliffe/Harvard Publishing Procedures. Fuller celebrates a lifelong publishing career and currently works in children’s literature as an author, illustrator, editor, and literary agent. She is the Director of Alp Arts Company, a publishing firm located in Vail, Colorado. As an avid outdoorsperson, Fuller loves backcountry and downhill skiing, hiking and biking. She also enjoys music (singing, playing guitar and piano) and puppetry. Sandy Fuller includes numerous interviews with Tony Mauro, the “Voice of Vail,” and writing articles for Covered Bridge Magazine, her daughter’s publication, as Vail highlights. Fuller also enjoyed visiting with President and Mrs. Gerald Ford at DKE gatherings in Vail. She has one sister, Susie Ferguson Fuller, who is married to Jim Fuller. Sandy Ferguson Fuller has two children with Alan Fuller: Kimberly Elizabeth Fuller L’Heurex and Scott Lord Fuller.
