Maria Elizondo, Theresa Kupecz, and Emile Etchart speak about Basque tradition and folktales during a joint program of the Museums of Western Colorado and the Mesa County Historical Society in 1984. Maria Elizondo talks about immigration to the United States, adapting to life in Mesa County, Colorado, attending school at Mesa College, and her brother’s successful career as a sheep rancher. Emile Etchart describes life in the Basque region of France, immigration to the United States, and sheep ranching. Elena Massonde, Emile Etchart, and Jean Baptist Massonde perform Basque songs.
