Dedication of the F. Scot Crismon Memorial Field. The plaque reads: "F. SCOT CRISMON MEMORIAL FIELD THIS RECREATION AREA IS DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF LT. F. SCOTT CRISMON, U.S.N.R., WSC 1960, A UNITED STATES NAVAL AVIATOR WHO GAVE HIS LIFE IN THE SERVICE OF HIS COUNTRY DURING THE VIET NAM CONFLICT. LT. CRISMON WAS ABOARD THE U.S.S. HANCOCK AS AN A-4 JET FIGHTER PILOT AT "YAKEE STATION" WHEN HE WAS KILLED ON DECEMBER 30, 1964. THIS FIELD ALSO COMMEMORATES THOSE WESTERN STATE STUDENTS WHO FOUGHT AND DIED FOR THE UNITED STATES DURING THIS, THE LONGEST OF AMERICA'S WARS. CONSTRUCTION 52ND ENGINEER BATTALION FORT CARSON, COLO."
