The auditorium on the north end of Normal Hall (now Taylor Hall) is set up for commencement exercises for the first graduating class of Colorado State Normal School, May 30, 1912. The mural on the wall was painted by CSNS art professor Henry L. Richter. It now hangs in the circulation desk area in Leslie J. Savage Library.

Old Colorado Hall, circa 1935
(Old) Colorado Hall was built in 1920 after WSC President Samuel Quigley determined that inexpensive housing was needed. Colorado Hall was designed as a temporary building to address increased enrollment, providing dining facilities and living areas for 96 women students. -- Ref: Abbott Fay's "Mountain Academia", p. 54 "In 1932 when Chipeta Hall was completed the building was converted into a boys' dormitory...[in] 1937...it was cut into three pieces and moved a block north where it was reassembled..." -- Ref: top O' The World, March 21, 1939. This photo is labeled "1930s"; the building was destroyed by fire in March 1939. Probably Ouray Hall in the background. Photo reverse notes: Colorado Hall - Western State College, 1930s - burned down - located just north of Boiler Plant where Ophir & Alpine Halls are.
