The Laytons

The Lioness, Minturn
Several individuals stand on the platform at the Minturn depot. The "Lioness" (Lionshead Rock) is visible on the mountainside. The Eagle River is barely visible running past the station. This photograph was taken by William Henry Jackson. The Lionshead Rock met a tragic end on March 4, 2014, when a large section of the rock broke away from the local landmark and landed on the railway tracks below.
The Lodge at the Lucky G.J. Ranch
A postcard of the main ranch house at the Lucky GJ Ranch. Margaret Smith, Edith Eidem, and Delia Bridget O'Callaghan, three WW II ex-Wacs, bought the Ranch in February 1947 from Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stewart. They operated the 300-acre ranch as a dude ranch. There was a thirty-two room ranch house that they cleaned up and then they added cabins and worked fields. Gene Godat worked as their hunting guide for tourists. Gene and Fawntella Godat owned the Hilltop Dude Ranch in Sweetwater from 1946 until 1961. Both properties are now part of Anderson "Western Colorado" Camps.
The Lodge, Vail
An evening view of the Lodge, a resort hotel located in Vail. The Lodge was one of the first hotels in Vail, having opened in November of 1962. It is considered the "cornerstone" of what is known today as Vail Village. From the verso, "An evening view of the Lodge at Vail, a 67-room resort hotel at Vail, Colorado. Late evening light illuminates the peaks of the Gore Range in the background. Vail is 35 miles west of Frisco on U.S. Highway 6 in the heart of the Colorado Rockies."

The Man In the Moon, 1932
Eagle High School's senior play in 1932 was "The Man in the Moon" with the following cast members from left to right, standing: George Marshall Hartman, Tomasita Aerts, Alvin Webb, Garnet Ping, George Carlow, Margaret Brooks, Robert Webb, Ida Robertson, Omar Ginther, Louis Campbell. [appears to be missing one name] In the front row seated are George White and Rhoda May Reynolds. [Title supplied from catalog prepared by the Eagle County Historical Society.]
