Bill Heicher telling Jake Borah stories during the Gypsum Cemetery Tour July 16, 2011. The tour was sponsored by the Town of Gypsum in celebration of Gypsum's Centennial, held July 9-17, 2011. The Porchlight Players, a local drama group, portrayed interesting citizens of the town buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Jacob "Jake" Borah was born April 13, 1847, and died July 19, 1929. He came to Gypsum in 1875 with his brother, Al, and became internationally known as a guide and woodsman, most notably serving as guide to Theodore Roosevelt in 1905.
