Borah and Van Horn families
From left to right: Alfred Borah, John Van Horn, Nizza Van Horn, unidentified child, and Mary Borah stand outside the main house at the former Borah ranch. Alfred sold the ranch to John in 1916, before he and his family moved to Arizona. The Van Horn's dog is sitting below the child. "Mr. and Mrs. Borah. Mr. and Mrs. John Van Horn on Brush Creek, Colo. at our old home after we sold the place, 1916, to them and we came to Phoenix, Ariz. and made our home. From left to right: Raymond, Ruth, Frank, and Reva Borah sit for a picture. They were the children of Lloyd G. Borah and Jennie Borah. Lloyd was a distant relative of Alfred Borah through Alfred's great-grandfather, and Lloyd's great-great-great-grandfather, Peter Bohrer/Borah (1735-1785).

The Borah family sits for a photograph in 1897. From left to right: Mary (Grant) Borah, Mittie Alda Borah (in butter churn), and Alfred Borah. This photograph was taken by Gene Borah, a relative of Alfred's, on June 6, 1897. Alfred writes in his journal, "Gene Packed his trunk took 2 Photos 1 of Baby in Churn." Alda was six months old.
