In her oral history interview conducted on July 23, 2024, Karen Norback described her work as a “political hobbyist” and her spoke to her immense impact on the development of open space in Lafayette. This oral history sheds light on a variety of aspects of Lafayette’s growth and development, as well as how the community held a lively political scene that was always within the community. She eloquently described Lafayette’s growth into a more populated city amid citizen efforts to maintain open greenspace for both human enjoyment and ecological preservation.
