Steven Gluckstern
Steven Gluckstern, married to Judy Gluckstern, orginally had planned on moving to Telluride, Colorado, in 1976 to become a school superintendent, but that fell through. So, he moved to Iran, where he met a Telluride local: Michael D. Palm. The two met while working at an English language school and became close friends. They then started an educational consulting firm together. Gluckstern also started business school, and ultimately got his MBA, from Stanford University. Steven eventually returned to Telluride to take that superintendent position and also started the Telluride Academy with Wendy Brooks. That was when the family, which also included a daughter named Sarah and a son named J.D. settled down in Telluride in the 1980's. Michael and Steven started a company called Centre Reinsurance and made a decent profit from the business. Palm retired and passed away at the age of 47. Gluckstern then took a different path and purchased a medical device company, that he still runs today, out of Santa Fe. --Information taken 7/2/21 from: https://issuu.com/visit_telluride/docs/vgw15-16_issuu/63
