: Warren Pulis; In 1941, Warren's family acquired a ranch in the Gore Valley. They built a cabin on what is now the Vail Golf Course. In 1957, Warren married Helga Tanzer; they have three daughters - Vali, Fawn and Piney. In 1966, the Vail Metropolitan Recreation District was formed. Warren was a member of the first Board of Directors alongside Dick Hauserman, Ted Kindel, Bob Parker and Pete Seibert. In 1979, the Town of Vail began open space discussion with Vail Associates and the Pulis family.
