Walter Coleman
Walter Coleman was a member of the Education Committee of the Glenwood Springs Chamber of Commerce which helped developed Colorado Mountain College.
Walter Daniel "Bud" Bradbury
He was born in Colby, Kansas to Frank Bradbury and Nellie Lorena (Gilbert) Bradbury. His father was a farmer and his mother was a homemaker. He grew up in Kannah Creek, where his family farmed. He was the youngest of four children. The 1920 and 1930 US Censuses show the family as living in the Kannah Creek area, with Walter at the ages of one and eleven, respectively. The family owned haying operations and sold hay to corrals in Grand Junction and other agricultural enterprises. He attended the Pride School in Whitewater from 1924 to 1935, Grand Junction High School from 1935 to 1936 (While at GJHS he played in the band), and Mesa College from 1936 to 1941. He was an ensign in the US Navy during World War II, with duty stations in California, Arizona, Oklahoma, and Florida. He served from 1942 to 1945. He married Margaret Phyllis Anderson, a registered nurse of Grand Junction, on June 18, 1946. They had two sons. Upon returning to the Western Slope from the Navy, he was self-employed in Whitewater for a time before becoming a Grand Junction city patrolman from 1950 to 1957. The 1950 census shows he and his wife living on Bunting Avenue in Grand Junction, with Margaret working as a registered nurse. The 1955 Grand Junction City Directory shows his wife working for A & B Sporting Goods. He worked as a chemical analyst from 1957 to 1982. His family moved to Whitewater in 1963. Walter Everett Dalby
An accountant who established Dalby, Wendland and Company, the largest public accounting firm in Western Colorado, in 1948. He was born to Walter E. Dalby Sr. and Laura K. (Barbee) Dalby in Cheraw, Colorado in 1910. His father was a school teacher, a school superintendent, and a farmer. His mother was a homemaker. Dalby Jr. attended Wellington College and the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he received his Bachelor’s and his Master’s in accounting. At CU, he was involved in the C Club and the Advertising Club. He moved to Grand Junction, Colorado as a representative of Ernst and Ernst, a Denver accounting firm, in 1946. He had been the firm’s representative for clients on the Western Slope, and had spent years driving around the western part of the state. His office was in his home, in the First National Bank building, and later in Valley Plaza. He opened his own accounting company, now known as Dalby, Wendland and Company, in 1948. He was also on the board of directors for the Citizens Finance company.
Walter Farnham
Walter Farnham was born in 1937 in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Harvard College and majored in Psychology. After graduation, he moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, where he worked as a newspaper salesman. He then started a career with the Gillette corporation in marketing, for 8-9 years, and became their product manager. He also worked as a landlord and in renovating buildings. He was married and divorced young and has three sons. He moved to Telluride, Colorado in the 1980's to formally Jim Ray's home (a craftsman home) and also lived in Norwood, Colorado in the 1990's until the present. Walter is currently self employed as a rancher in Norwood, Colorado, since 2019.
