Bill Wilto

Bill Wilto was born 7 September 1946 in Montclair, New Jersey to Helen and Ellsworth Wilto. He grew up in Caldwell and Green Pond, New Jersey.
Wilto earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Denver in 1968. He moved to Vail in 1972 where he has succeeded in insurance, real estate and financial services. Wilto served as Director of Westar Bank (formerly Vail National Bank) between 1984 and 2002. In 1996, Wilto was voted Realtor of the Year by his peers at the Vail Board of Realtors. Currently, Wilto is the owner and Senior Broker of RE/MAX Vail Valley.
From 1973 to 1975, the civic-minded WIlto served on the Vail Planning Commission. Between 1975 and 1983, Wilto held a seat on the Vail Town Council and served as Mayor Pro-Tem between 1980 and 1983. During the 1989 World Alpine Championships in Vail, Wilto helped orchestrate the Volunteer Advisory Board. Wilto has also maintained an active membership in the Vail – Eagle Valley Rotary Club since 1973.
Wilto enjoys skiing, sailing and living in Eagle County, Colorado. In the 1970s and 1980s, Wilto was a national-level tournament water skier and appeared on ABC’s Wide World of Sports.
