Bud Burford

He was born in Whitewater, Colorado to Frederick “Fred” Burford. His grandparents came out to the Whitewater area in 1888 and homesteaded in the area. He grew up working on the family’s sheep and cattle ranching operation in Whitewater and Pinon Mesa. As a child, he attended the community church in Whitewater, where any people of faith could worship. He attended Christmas and other community events there. Son of Frederick “Fred” Burford. Brother of Darwin Burford.

Bud Palmer

John Shove "Bud" Palmer was an early resident of Vail, purchasing one of the first condominiums at All Seasons from Rod Slifer. He was also the owner of the Palmerosa, a ranch on lower Lake Creek west of Edwards. Always generous with his time and talent, Palmer was very active in numerous Vail community fundraisers and activities.
Bud Palmer was a popular ABC-TV sports broadcast journalist and often covered events aired on ABC Wide World of Sports. Palmer played professional basketball for the New York Knickerbockers and was the Knicks first team captain. He was significant in sports history for pioneering the jump shot during the 1930s.
Bud Palmer was the brother of Barbara Shove Webb of Colorado Springs, who was an avid supporter of Vail International Dance, and uncle of longtime local Marka Moser. Palmer was also great-uncle of Barbara, Mary Catherine, Michael and Mark Moser.
