Lucille Violet (Auth) Howell

She was born in Indiana to Phillip Auth, a German immigrant, and Permilla (Mumma) Auth of Indiana. Her father was a jeweler and her mother a homemaker. US Census records show her living in Gault, Colorado by 1920, when she was 11 years old. There, her father took up farming. By 1930, Census records show her having married radio broadcaster Rex Howell. They lived with their newborn daughter in Jefferson County, Colorado. The family moved to Grand Junction soon after, where Rex started the area’s first radio station. She was involved with and supportive of KFXJ.

Lucinda Wingham Foy

Her family was one of the first families to ever settle in the Gateway area. They migrated up to Colorado by way of the Dolores River from Moab, Utah, in January of 1901, traveling by wagon and horseback. She was a midwife and cook for many of the families settling in Gateway. The city of Bingham, Utah was named after her family. In total, she had ten children. Grandmother of Nellie (Foy) Massey.

Lucius Carpenter Currier

Early teacher at Appleton School. He also taught at the Heiberger School in Plateau Valley. His father, Ed Currier Sr., settled in the Pomona area of Mesa County, Colorado in the late Nineteenth or early Twentieth century.
In addition to teaching, livestock auctioneer Howard Shults states that Lucius continued to ranch in Pomona. He appears eventually to have settled in Plateau Valley, along with some of his brothers.
