- Margaret Shea
- A member of the Sisters of Charity. She was sent to work in St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction in 1896. She was responsible for the production, procurement, and preparation of food for the hospital. This included growing vegetables and keeping chickens and cows.

- Margaret Vandenburg
- A native of Mesa County, Colorado and the daughter of the Grand Junction chief of police. She attended Mesa County Schools and began her teaching career directly after high school. In 1925, she became the teacher of the younger grades in the Star School near Fruita. She went on to teach the 5th grade at the Emerson School. She then married a man named Roy Vandenburg and left teaching for a time. After the accidental death of her husband, she returned to teaching and retired some time later.
