- Albertha Ruth "Bertha" (Dempster) Shaw
- She was born in Iowa. Her parents were Robert Dempster and Lula. E. Gross. During World War ll, she served with the Armed Services in France. She later married Thatcher Leslie Shaw, a United States Army attorney and judge, and they lived together in Germany after the war until their return to the United States. They came first to Aspen, Colorado in 1950, and then to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1954.
