- Matilda Limberg
- She was born in Missouri, the daughter of German immigrants. Her husband passed away in the 1890’s, and she moved with her children to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1903 so that she close to her sisters. She operated a boarding house at 131 White Avenue, then one at 3rd and Rood Avenue (a location that later became the Argyle Hotel). the family later moved to a three acre ranch on the Old River Road to Fruita. There, the family raised and sold vegetables to grocery stores in Grand Junction, especially the Hampton Brothers store.
