She was born in Missouri on a farm near Iowa. She and her husband Edward Denton moved to Mesa County, Colorado sometime between 1910 and 1920. They raised potatoes near Fruita, Colorado and her children went to Fruita High School. They held square dances at the family’s packing and storage house.
