- Melvin "Glenn" Hicks
- Born in 1911 on what is now the Irby Ranch near Sargents, CO. Married Hazel Brashers, and together moved to Idaho in 1942 to work on a dam project, and then on to Tacoma, WA to work in the shipyards during WWII. Returned to Sargents in 1946 and bought a sawmill, which was his main source of income until he retired. Together he and Hazel raised three children; Melvin Roy, Sandra, and Glenna Sue, on a ranch they bought in 1952. Parade Marshall of the 1996 Cattlemen's Days.
