Natasha Williams, Ph.D.
Natasha Williams is a Colorado Mountain College (CMC) biological sciences professor who also teaches courses in computer science and Russian language. She primarily instructs at campuses in Glenwood Springs, Spring Valley, Carbondale and Aspen. Born Natalia Alexandrovna Bondareva in Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine, Williams is a self-described “ethnic Russian.” Williams earned her M.S. in Biology – Geobotany from Moscow State University and her Ph.D. in Botany (focus in plant systematics, taxonomy and plant population structure) from the Research Center at the Central Siberian Botanic Garden, Russian Academy of Sciences. She has authored two books written in Russian: one on the microevolution of Siberian plants and the other the fourth volume in a comprehensive series focused on the Flora of Siberia. Additionally, Williams has written over twenty scholarly articles for various scientific journals. In 2016, Natasha Williams was named CMC Spring Valley campus Adjunct Faculty of the Year for her efforts instructing computer science courses. She and her husband, Ken Williams, live in Carbondale; they have two daughters, Masha and Sasha.
