Paul Scott Ferris

He was born in Stamford, Connecticut to Robert Ferris and Paul (Zebroski) Ferris. His father was a carpenter. The 1950 US Census shows that Ferris lived with his father, and that his parents had divorced. Ferris attended St. Mary High School from 1960 to 1964 and the University of Connecticut from 1964 to 1968.
He was drafted into the US Armed Forces in 1968 and joined the Air Force in 1969. He learned the Vietnamese language and attended radio school. He flew as a pilot during the war.
After the war, he attended the University of Maryland from 1972 to 1974, getting his Master’s degree in guidance counseling, and Metro State College in Denver from 1975 to 1978, before receiving a teaching job in Grand Junction, Colorado. His wife was Pat Himes.
