Johnnette Phillips spent many years as a civil servant in Eagle County, Colorado. She served as Eagle County Clerk & Recorder from 1978 to 1992. In 1992, Phillips was elected Eagle County Commissioner and served in that capacity until 2000., This photograph of Johnnette Phillips commemorates her 80th birthday as celebrated in Town Talk of the Vail Daily on 20 May 2015.

Josef "Joe" Staufer shares narratives about his childhood in post-World War II Austria, meeting the love of his life, Anne, in Bermuda, stopping for a "visit" in Vail while en route to California in 1962, and becoming friends with President Gerald R. Ford.
In addition to Joe Staufer, the "Voice of Vail" Tony Mauro interviewed brother Hermann Staufer, son Jonathan Staufer, and 1960s Vail community members Dave Garton, Patti Langmaid, Jan Strauch, and Brian Stockmar.
