It addresses the values behind the founding of the Vail Symposium and its poster series created by Tom Benton. Benton was an American artist and activist who lived in Aspen. The iconic poster series artwork ran from 1971 to 1996. Minger and Vail's second mayor, John Dobson, founded the Vail Symposium in 1971. Designed as a visionary, yet pragmatic, think tank, the Vail Symposium addressed issues of a growing young town in the Rocky Mountain West.
