Rotary Club of Vail - Eagle Valley, Colorado: original banner
Description
A Rotary Club tradition is the gift (or exchange) of banners with visiting Rotarians.
This image depicts the original design of the Vail Rotary Club banner. According to Vail Rotary Club founding member, Bill Wilto, the motif was altered to its current design during the presidency of Tom Davies in 1988 – 1989.
Found in the digital archives of the Digital Public Library of America, this banner is held in the Herman Blizzard Rotary Archive, William M. Randall Library Special Collections of the University of North Carolina – Wilmington. Its only provenance is that it was contributed by the Wilmington Rotary Club, which is the oldest Rotary Club in North Carolina.
