Antholz Ranch Historic A-Frame Barn - ca. 1969 Gore Creek Valley
Description
This view of the former historic A-frame barn at Antholz Ranch is likely from Gore Creek looking south toward what is now the Northwoods subdivision (located just east of the Gold Peak complex in Vail). This former ranch site is now home of Ford Park.
During 1971 and 1972, Summervail Workshop in Art and Critical Studies (also known as Summervail Art Workshop) was held at Antholz Ranch. Originally the brainchild of Randy Milhoan, Dan Telleen and Jim Cotter, Summervail Art Workshop became a continuing education program of Colorado Mountain College.
The image was believed created circa 1969; the photographer is unknown. This A-frame barn is not to be confused with "The A-Frame," a former Town of Vail Public Works building that became a site for the Summervail Art Workshop., Image is courtesy of Summervail Art Workshop Legacy Project (SAWLP) and the Milhoan family.
