10th Mountain Chapter - NSDAR: Organizing Regent Challenge Coin (b)
In gratitude to organizing regent, Wendy Kidder Becker, of the 10th Mountain Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), a challenge coin was designed by chapter registrar Mary Anne Baker. The front of Becker’s challenge coin features the emblematic 10th Mountain Division motif, while the back features a stylized image of Mount of the Holy Cross. The Mount of the Holy Cross is an iconic 14,011’ peak located in the Rocky Mountain Sawatch Range in Eagle County, Colorado. It was first photographed by William Henry Jackson in 1873. For over 20 years, Becker commuted from her hometown of Vail to the Colorado Front Range for DAR meetings and events. However, health challenges forced her relocation to California. Prior to leaving the mountains of Colorado, Becker organized the 10th Mountain chapter – NSDAR as a legacy. Becker was presented with this gift of gratitude and named Honorary Chapter Regent in June 2019.
